Corporate Dialogue

Southern California Grantmakers invites corporate giving professionals to join an interactive discussion led by the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP) on the latest trends in corporate giving, based upon CECP’s recent survey on 2009 contributions.

CECP Research Specialist Alison Rose will share the story behind the numbers, with which corporate grantmakers can create compelling communications to convey their work to senior management and other stakeholders. In this session, Rose will share the latest findings on:
  • Matching gift programs;
  • International giving;
  • Fortune 100 trends;
  • Giving by program area;
  • Employee volunteerism;
  • Non-cash giving;
  • Giving motivations; and more.
Following the formal presentation of survey findings, participants will break into small group discussions on the topics covered to share their own insights and experience. The program will conclude with lunch and networking opportunities.

Presenter:

Alison Rose
Research Specialist, Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy

Alison Rose manages the strategic direction of CECP’s proprietary corporate philanthropy benchmarking initiative, the Corporate Giving Standard (CGS). She works one-on-one with Committee members and subscribers to collect data using a standardized measurement framework and helps corporate giving officers create compelling presentations for senior management that inform their budget decisions. As a research specialist, Rose’s analysis includes identifying emerging trends on matching gift programs, international giving, staffing, employee volunteerism and other aspects of corporate philanthropy.

Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy
The Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP) is the only international forum of business CEOs and chairpersons exclusively focused on corporate philanthropy. Through CECP’s premier events, comprehensive corporate philanthropy measurement and research, thought leadership publications and media outreach, CECP provides CEOs and corporate giving professionals with the tools necessary to increase the business and social value of their philanthropy programs. CECP’s measurement initiative, the Corporate Giving Standard (CGS) system, is designed to equip corporate giving professionals with an “apples to apples” benchmarking tool. Currently, the system contains more than $60 billion in cash and product giving.
