Philanthropy in the State Capitol brings together our state’s elected officials with leaders of our sector through Philanthropy California, SCG’s partnership with Northern California Grantmakers and San Diego Grantmakers. Please join us on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 for a full day of meetings with our state’s policymakers in which you can share your unique learning and perspective on the issues you fund, educate legislators and the administration about philanthropy’s role in civil society, and build your relationships with fellow policy-oriented funders as well as with policymakers. Our goal is to strengthen philanthropy’s voice on key issues such as the 2020 Census, and to encourage legislators to view philanthropy as thought partners. Together, we can work with government to scale up best practices that will improve the lives of millions of Californians.

We are also thrilled to offer a half-day, cross-sector briefing and a welcome reception for all participants on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. The briefing will focus on the 2020 Census and emerging issues affecting philanthropy and communities across California, and will provide an opportunity for interactive discussions with leading policy experts.

About Philanthropy California

Philanthropy CA is an alliance of Northern California Grantmakers (NCG), San Diego Grantmakers (SDG) and Southern California Grantmakers (SCG). Our combined membership represents more than 500 foundations, corporate funders, philanthropic individuals and families, giving circles and government agencies who invest billions every year to support communities across the state, the country and worldwide. Philanthropy CA taps into the deep regional expertise and connections of funders to increase philanthropy’s impact in building and sustaining thriving, equitable communities. Together, we can impact our members, the nonprofits they support and the communities they serve.
