Please join SCG, the LA Partnership for Early Childhood Investment, and First 5 LA (@First5LA) for a special look at First 5 LA's new strategic plan and a discussion on potential impacts for the broader funder community's work supporting young children in LA County.

For more than 15 years, First 5 LA has worked collaboratively across Los Angeles County to ensure that every child enters kindergarten ready to succeed in school and life. As a public organization funded by the Proposition 10 tobacco tax, First 5 LA has invested more than $1 billion to improve the health, safety, and school readiness of children prenatal to age 5.

First 5 LA’s new strategic plan for 2015-2020 lays out a clear path for the organization to maximize impact for the greatest number of children prenatal to age 5 in LA County. The plan is the product of extensive research, input from parents, and feedback from communities and service providers. Its approved strategies and investments represent important shifts in funding priorities and organizational emphasis for First 5 LA.

Join First 5 LA Executive Director Kim Belshé, Director of Strategic Planning and Implementation Jessica Kaczmarek, and additional staff from First 5 LA for a discussion on the organization’s new strategic focus, including lessons learned from the planning process.

Together we'll explore how First 5 LA envisions contributing to better outcomes for young children by strengthening families, supporting the capacity of the communities in which families and children live, and achieving sustainable impact through systems and policy change.
