Currently 70 of the 81 public school districts in Los Angeles County, which serves 1.2 million students, are participating in the collective impact work of the Los Angeles County Arts Ed Collective. By 2020, it is anticipated that all 81 school districts will be participating in this network. Throughout spring 2019, a Countywide public engagement process will produce a new Regional Plan for Arts Education and frame an ambitious new vision for using arts-based instruction to work in schools and communities in ways that improve student outcomes, provide pathways to the creative economy and further the aims of broader Countywide efforts.

This funders convening will examine the evolution of arts education and creative youth development in LA County. A panel of experts representing philanthropy, education, mental health and juvenile justice will provide insights about the ways arts and arts education are strengthening these efforts.
