In recent years, Southern California’s philanthropic community has made dramatic strides in its embrace of nonprofit and foundation advocacy. At the same time, AFJ’s Southern California office has empowered hundreds of nonprofits and foundations in Southern California and beyond to advocate effectively and contributed to significant power building and policy and systems change.
This luncheon will feature a keynote address by Antonia Hernandez, President and CEO of the California Community Foundation, an introduction by Nan Aron, President of Alliance for Justice, and a dynamic discussion highlighting the crucial roles that funders will play in supporting and engaging in advocacy over the upcoming election year, including the rules of engagement for funders. The event will highlight pathways that are open to different kinds of funders to enhance their support of advocacy efforts in this pivotal election and redistricting cycle.
