Current conditions continue to place enormous demands on us. Still, we have cause for hope: bold new leadership in many places, budgetary step stones toward a just recovery, and a rising tide of action to disrupt systemic racism. Now, as always, we are each asked to bring clarity, generosity, and courage to our efforts to heal, reimagine, and rebuild toward large-scale change. We are invited to make space, in the midst of urgency, to notice more, re-vision priorities, reconnect with ourselves and each other.
Maintaining good physical and mental-emotional health is essential for the work at hand. Join colleagues for a collective pause to steady ourselves – a brief period for meditation, gentle mindful movement, and quiet reflection in community. Beginners welcome!
This online weekly gathering provides space to settle our bodies and hearts and re-center our minds so that we approach the big opportunities and challenges before us with love and fortitude. Research indicates that routine engagement in contemplative practices fosters self-awareness, self-regulation, improved focus, perspective taking, and greater capacity to respond skillfully in our relationships. Additionally, meditation reduces the harmful health effects of chronic stress, settles the nervous system, and promotes greater calm, creativity and compassion. Join your colleagues across California each week for a potent 30-minute mental-emotional refresh.
