Please join Southern California Grantmakers and the Education Funders Group for a discussion with LAUSD Board President Steve Zimmer (@LAUSD_Zimmeron the search for a new Superintendent.

The elected school board will make a high-stakes decision in selecting a new leader for the nation's second-largest school system, which currently serves 643,000 students.

LAUSD has selected the search firm Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates, which has initiated a process to solicit input from board members, stakeholders, and civic leaders on the characteristics of an ideal candidate.

Under the next superintendent, efforts in the district to improve student achievement and teacher performance will directly impact Los Angeles’ future social and economic well-being.

In a conversation led by Fred Ali, President and CEO of Weingart Foundation and LAUSD Board President Steve Zimmer, participants will get an update on the search process and explore ways in which philanthropy can support the transition to new leadership.

We hope you can join us for this timely and critical program.
