Join your peers in an interactive discussion to surface and share strategies, examples and questions in responding to challenges facing immigrants, refugees and their communities. Daranee Petsod, president of Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees, will provide opening and framing remarks from a national perspective. Eliza Brennan, Program Officer, International Community Foundation will share information about their capacity-building work in border-regions.

Eliza Brennan 

Program Officer, International Community Foundation

Eliza leads ICF’s Education portfolio with the goal of expanding educational opportunities for vulnerable children in Mexico and other regions of Latin America to succeed in school, careers and life. She also oversees ICF’s programmatic work in Guatemala and a small, but growing portfolio of grants to promote and increase access to the arts. 

Daranee Petsod 

President, Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees

As president of Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees (GCIR), she leads an influential national organization that has catalyzed and leveraged hundreds of millions in philanthropic funding to protect the rights of immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers—and cultivate their inclusion and contributions to our society.
