We are excited to announce that Ann O’Leary, Chief of Staff to Governor Gavin Newsom, will speak at the Partnership Quarterly Meeting on “Key Strategies to Lift California Children and Families out of Poverty.

While California is a national leader on many fronts – from technological innovation to clean energy – the state remains woefully behind when it comes to child poverty. In fact, California has the highest rate of child poverty – 1 in 5 – in the nation. Fortunately, there are solutions, and under the leadership of new Governor Gavin Newsom, the state is getting serious about addressing this problem. To fight child poverty, inequality and the rising cost of living, the governor is leading on two bold strategies to put money back in low-income families’ pockets and help them get back to work: modernizing and expanding the Earned Income Tax Credit and creating the nation’s leading Paid Family Leave Policy. Join us for a conversation about how these two strategies can help California’s low-income families lift themselves, and their children, out of poverty.
