2019 has seen significant advances in addressing early childhood trauma. Governor Newsom appointed Dr. Nadine Burke Harris, California’s first-ever Surgeon General, and increased the state budget to include nearly $150 million for a variety of strategies to address early childhood trauma.

In Los Angeles County, leaders are focused on early childhood prevention efforts across systems. Prevention efforts include expanding screenings as well as empowering LA County’s workforce to deliver a continuum of integrated prevention practices with the goal of improving client, family, and workforce wellbeing.

Join us for a conversation with LA County leaders about the innovations, lessons learned, and opportunities for cross-sector collaboration at the agency and community level.

Speakers
  • Dr. Jonathan Sherin, Director, LA County Department of Mental Health
  • Bobby Cagle, Director, LA County Department of Children and Family Services
