Giving families can wear many hats. At times, families may feel like they are losing the family identity in their giving. How does one keep the family in family philanthropy? What are steps families can take to make sure they are serving the public good while maintaining the family value & legacy? Join NCFP’s president, Virginia M. Esposito, as she interviews family members from multiple generations to gain insights on how your family can consider keeping the family in family giving. 


Virginia Esposito

Virginia M. Esposito is the founder and president of the National Center for Family Philanthropy. She has served on boards and committees for organizations including Great Nonprofits, the Binational Commission on the Nonprofit Sector, the Commission on the Future of Public Education, Committee on Ethics and Accountability (Independent Sector), the Philanthropy and the Black Church Project, and Strengthening Native American Philanthropy. She currently serves on the board of directors of the John M. Belk Endowment.


Michael Meadows

Michael Meadows is Senior Vice President at Westwood Trust. Michael is also a former board member of the Meadows Foundation. Founded in 1948, the Meadows wanted to create a wellspring of resources to benefit and serve the people of their state of Texas. They left the privilege of giving to future generations of their family, with the mandate to continuously improve the quality of life for Texans.



Ellen Remmer

Ellen Remmer is President of the Remmer Family Foundation, a small family foundation focused on girls empowerment and sustainable fisheries. Ellen is also a Senior Partner at The Philanthropic Initiative (TPI), the nonprofit philanthropic advisory firm that pioneered the field of strategy philanthropy advising. She chairs the Board of Prosperity Catalyst, a nonprofit organization that launches women-led businesses in conflict-ridden countries, serves on the Advisory Council for the Women’s Philanthropy Institute at the Lilly School of Philanthropy at Indiana University and is a member of the Oxfam Leadership Council. 


Kerry Robinson

Kerry Robinson is the Founding Executive Director and Global Ambassador of the Leadership Roundtable, dedicated to promoting excellence and best practices in the management, finances and human resource development of the Catholic Church. The Leadership Roundtable exists to strengthen the temporal affairs of the Church by harnessing the expertise and resources of Catholic senior-level executives from all sectors in service to the Church. Kerry is a 5th generational family board member of the Raskob Foundation for Catholic Activities and FADICA (Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities).
