SCG is proud to partner with the Red Cross on their Nonprofit Resiliency Academy: A Preparedness and Continuity of Operations Conference for Nonprofit Organizations.

Organizational preparedness is key for a nonprofit’s own sustainability as well as their capacity to continue supporting constituents during times of great need. A simple preparedness and continuity plan can mean the difference between being lost in the chaos and being a partner to our communities during the recovery process.

This event is directed at foundations and nonprofits. SCG members are invited to attend and we strongly encourage you to invite your grantees!

The morning session will provide an overview of disaster preparedness on an organizational level for foundations and nonprofits.

The afternoon will be targeted to nonprofit service providers to help them tailor a plan to their particular service areas. However, foundations are welcome to attend this portion to learn more about how best to support their grantees.

This day-long capacity building and networking event will address nonprofits' disaster preparedness needs, providing resources and information related to health and human services, youth and education, and faith-based/community organizations.

In the event of a disaster, nonprofits as wells as foundations will need to protect their own operations and support their constituents in the community. We hope you and your grantee partners are able to join this special training.

This event is presented by the American Red Cross in partnership with Southern California Grantmakers and the Mayor's Fund for Los Angeles.
