On the evening of A Place at The Table's nationwide theatrical release, explore how 50 million people in the U.S.--including one in four children--don’t know when, or where, they will find their next meal.

Southern California Grantmakers (SCG) is pleased to invite you to an opening night film screening, co-presented with The California Endowment’s CenterScene.

Produced by activists including Top Chef’s Tom Colicchio, and featuring interviews with Academy Award-winning actor and founder of the End Hunger Network, Jeff Bridges, the documentary examines the history, policies and infrastructural blind spots in a nation where many still lack access to the most basic building block of good health: food.

In June 2012, SCG members attended a pre-release private screening of the film, followed by an idea exchange with Participant Media Chief Executive Officer Jim Berk about engaging communities in the fight against hunger through their social action campaign.

Now, we invite you to join us for the film’s opening night and the opportunity to learn about Participant Media’s newly launched strategy to spark a national conversation about how a nation with so much food can have so much hunger.
