A message from our GEO partners:

Dear SCG Members—

We have decided to hit “pause” and postpone the delivery of our workshop, “Participation, Power and Philanthropy: Putting Nonprofits and Communities in the Driver’s Seat.” At the heart of this workshop is the importance of centering nonprofits and communities in our work and for GEO, this is a conversation we don’t take lightly. Further, as an organization deeply committed to advancing racial equity, GEO has worked to build the capacity of our staff and board to have thoughtful conversations regarding race and to support our members in doing so as well. We realize we still have work to do and we want to take the time to ensure that we are holding ourselves accountable to our values and our vision. While we are sorry we won’t get to be with you in several weeks we think it is essential that we make space for internal reflection and learning so that we are better equipped to support our members in this critical work. We are very sorry for the change of plans, but we are very grateful for you and our partners at NCG and SCG who have provided us with the space for this work and we look forward to sharing lessons learned with you. Please don’t hesitate to contact Emily Wexler ([email protected]) with any questions. Thank you.
