SCG members are invited to participate remotely in a Northern California Grantmakers program on Fighting Intolerance in the Bay Area and Beyond.
The rise of hate crimes, bullying, and other forms of bigotry has taken center stage in recent months, with an estimate of nearly 2000 bias-motivated incidents since last November’s election. Communities of color, women, LGBT people, communities of faith, persons living with disabilities, older adults, immigrants, and others regularly face vulnerability because of their identities. Everyday attitudes of intolerance furthermore lay the groundwork for more systematized forms of discrimination and exclusion, such as the Muslim Ban.
Join us for a thought-provoking and insightful program with local and national experts on these complex issues, and come learn about what funders can do to help overcome these challenges. Our speakers will share their strategies in education, policy, organizing, communications, and other critical social change methodologies.
