Our partners at the Center for Nonprofit Management have invited SCG members to join an intimate dialogue with Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Hedrick Smith and UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs Associate Dean Bill Parent.

Hedrick Smith spent 25 years as the Washington Bureau Chief for the New York Times. He has been traveling across the country to discuss his book, Who Stole the American Dream? and his perspective on the signs of change which are emerging.

Hedrick will also share insights into how we can generate reforms from the bottom up and support an economy that shares prosperity more widely.

Bill Parent will guide this fascinating conversation with Hedrick, which may touch on issues as varied as immigration, economic growth and jobs, national debt, climate change, student debt, U.S. competitiveness, Social Security & Medicare—and other critical issues we can’t resolve with a better functioning political system.

This event is designed for philanthropy and nonprofit leaders to take a step out of day-to-day management concerns and focus on finding solutions for the big problems impacting the greater Southern California community.
