We are proud to partner with The Giving Back Fund to offer SCG members a special discounted rate for the 6th Annual Sports and Entertainment Philanthropy Summit.

The summit offers cutting-edge information and educational tools about best practices in philanthropy with an emphasis on working with professional athletes, celebrities, and other high net worth individuals. Sessions will focus on topics including cause marketing, fundraising, grant writing, sponsorships, legal issues, public relations, and social media. The Summit brings together high-level experts in their specific fields for a unique learning and networking experience.

  • Carol Cone, widely credited with inventing cause-related marketing in the US (Cone/Roper Surveys) will be doing a session together with Elliot Kotek from the Not Impossible Foundation
  • Jon Duschinsky, Founder of The Conversation Farm
  • Jay Samit, one of the leading social media gurus in the world
  • Richard Lapchick, widely recognized as the "conscience of sport in America"

There will also be a full day of panels led by some of the top leaders in Sports and Entertainment foundation management, PR, marketing and fundraising!

Panel Topics Include:

  • Mastering the ever-changing social media world
  • Cause-marketing with the experts
  • Do’s and don’ts of tax and other legal issues
  • How to engage celebrities in a cause
  • Building a sustainable brand through philanthropy
  • Unique fundraising concepts – successful events

Group and referral rates are available if your organization would like to send more than one person or if you refer someone that you think might benefit from the summit.

The atmosphere is a classroom style, participatory setting. Each session includes a Q & A portion so that individual concerns can be addressed. Content will be appropriate for all levels of experience. The goal is to have attendees leave with skills and information that can be immediately deployed to increase efficiency and effectiveness in their current work.

Marc Pollick, Founder and President of The Giving Back Fund, notes, "Those of us who are working in the field of sports and entertainment philanthropy rarely have the opportunity to spend any concentrated time with our colleagues. So much can be learned from each other's successes and challenges, some of which are very unique to those doing philanthropy in the public light."

PLUS: Attendees to the GBF Summit on July 25 are provided FREE access to the Doha GOALS (Gathering Of All Leaders in Sport) Forum Sunday July 26 - Tuesday July 28, in partnership with the Special Olympics World Games. Doha speakers include Olympic Gold Medalists: Nadia Comaneci, Meryl Davis, Carl Lewis, Mark Spitz, and Sebastian Coe.
