SCG members are invited to meet with public, nonprofit, and philanthropic child welfare advocates at the next SCG LA County Child Welfare Collaborative meeting.

During this session, participants will hear updates from Brandon Nichols, Chief Deputy Director of the Department of Children and Family Services, and Kate Anderson, Director, Center for Strategic Public-Private Partnerships, which is housed in the LA County Office of Child Protection.

Anderson will provide updates on the Center's shared agenda and current opportunities for funders to get involved with the Center's on-going work.

At this meeting, local nonprofit partners will also discuss the nuts and bolts of the requirements they face to comply with Continuum of Care Reform: Olivia Celis, Consultant at Casey Family Programs and Dr. Khush Cooper, a leading expert in children and family services organizations across California.

Additionally, Sara Montrose, Program Officer at Weingart Foundation, will share ways funders can prepare along with their grantees for this significant reform effort in the child welfare sector.

Lastly, the Children’s Deputies for the Board of Supervisors will join us to share updates about recent Board Motions related to child welfare.

We look forward to seeing you at this informative session.

Attendees will need to give themselves ample time to get through building security and will be required to show a driver’s license at check-in.
