Since taking office more than a year ago, Gov. Gavin Newsom has made early childhood issues a top priority for his Administration. As he seeks to expand the state’s preschool program further, strengthen Paid Family Leave, expand early health programs and create a new Department of Early Childhood Development, Newsom’s Administration throughout 2020 will be focused on developing a Master Plan for Early Learning and Care -- a sustainable and comprehensive system meant to call to mind the state’s Master Plan for Higher Education.

Issues that top early childhood stakeholders and dozens of researchers are now tackling include financing, workforce, administration, and facilities, as well as a specific focus on how public-private partnerships can help ensure high-quality care and learning opportunities for all of our state’s children. The plan is due to be completed in October.

Join us for a timely conversation with top Administration officials about the purpose and progress of the Master Plan and how both the private and public sectors in LA County can help shape and support the realignment of California’s early childhood programs.

We regret to inform you that LA Partnership for Early Childhood Investment Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, 2020 10:00am - 12:00pm has been postponed. This decision was made in close consultation with our attendees, our staff, and our partners and was driven by our commitment to prioritizing the health and safety of our local community.

Please note, most upcoming SCG programs and events are still scheduled to occur. At this time, SCG is deciding whether or not to host programs on a case-by-case basis. While this decision was made out of an abundance of caution, we did not come to this decision lightly. We are mindful of the considerable investment of time and resources that programs demand of our speakers, vendors, SCG staff, and members, and we are grateful for your patience as we work through each unique circumstance.
