You are invited join members and guests of the LA Partnership for Early Childhood Investment and SCG to learn more about the promise and early signs of success with transitional kindergarten.

A new study from the American Institutes for Research shows positive impacts of transitional kindergarten with a first cohort of children.

Our panel of experts will share their perspectives on this research and the implications for children across Los Angeles:

  • Camille Maben, Executive Director, First 5 California (@First5LA)
  • Kim Pattillo-Brownson, Director, Educational Equity, Advancement Project (@adv_project)
  • Heather Quick, Principal Researcher, Education Program, AIR (American Institutes for Research @Education_AIR)

With the Los Angeles Unified School District expanding its age range to make thousands of more children eligible for transitional kindergarten, other school districts around the county and state are considering following suit.

Grantmakers who currently fund early childhood education, or are interested in doing so, are encouraged to attend!
