Join health care funders, community clinics and other stakeholders to discuss findings from a new study by the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research funded by the California Community Foundation and the Weingart Foundation.

The study, which will be published May 21st, evaluates the readiness of Los Angeles County community health centers (CHCs) to serve new populations insured under health care reform.

The policy brief specifically looks at progress made to date on several fronts:

  • adopting a “medical home” model of care;
  • increasing managed care participation;
  • updating information technology;
  • engaging in quality initiatives to prepare for an anticipated influx of newly insured; and
  • continuing to effectively serve the traditional clientele of CHCs (the uninsured).

This program is presented by the California Community Foundation and the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, in partnership with Southern California Grantmakers.
