What does storytelling have to do with me and my foundation? A good story will help you achieve more than you think:

  • Create greater impact through your grantmaking
  • Develop continuity in your philanthropy
  • Engage current and potential partners
  • Build a deeper understanding of your mission within your foundation
  • Raise up the work and accomplishments of your grantees
  • Continue your legacy across generations

At this year’s conference, we’re doing a deep dive into why and how to tell your family foundation’s story in a compelling, high impact way.

Nationally recognized author, speaker and consultant Andy Goodman travels the country teaching nonprofits, philanthropists, and companies how to tell their story and amplify their impact for the greater good. Now, Andy has specifcally adapted his approach to the unique needs of the SCG family philanthropy community.

In this fun and interactive workshop format, you will:

  • Learn why narrative storytelling is a critical tool in your philanthropic toolbox and how your fellow family foundations have used storytelling successfully in their work.
  • Connect with your peers during small group table talks and practice using the building blocks of a strong narrative
  • Start crafting your very own story. This interactive peer group exercise will help you think through what kind of story to tell about your family foundation and how to effectively capture the depth and value of your philanthropic goals.

You’ll walk away from the conference equipped with an eye-opening new perspective on the power of your family foundation’s story and the tools needed to share and leverage that story for maximum impact within your family, your organization, and your community.
