You are cordially invited to join us for a convening of SCG members to discuss current research and strategies to increase college access, hosted by Cara Esposito, Executive Director of The Leonetti/O'Connell Family Foundation.

We are pleased to host this gathering as part of Southern California Grantmakers’ SCG Leadership ExChange series, designed to bring together small groups of members from across the region to discuss a range of topics that impact our work as grantmakers. SCG’s goal for the series is to facilitate candid, action-oriented dialogue about important issues and solutions being sought by your peers.

The breakfast will feature Richard Sanders, a UCLA law professor and co-author of Mismatch, which draws on new research to address the benefits and shortcomings of increasing college access through affirmative action. Mr. Sanders will discuss philanthropy’s role in advancing policies and programs that advance student achievement.

In addition to building connections among Southern California’s leaders in philanthropy, this event is also a special opportunity to meet and connect with Christine Essel in her new role as president of SCG. Our conversation will explore how SCG can have the greatest impact in supporting your work, as the organization considers its next strategic direction.
