Southern California Grantmakers, Northern California Grantmakers, and San Diego Grantmakers invite you to a statewide webinar on the California Women’s Well-Being Index, the first-ever web-based resource that provides a comprehensive, composite measure of women’s well-being across the state.

The California Budget & Policy Center (@CalBudgetCenter), in partnership with the Women’s Foundation of California (@womensfoundCA), created the Index to provide a look at how women are faring across the state.

This new online resource brings together over two dozen indicators across five “dimensions” of well-being—Personal Safety, Health, Employment & Earnings, Economic Security, and Political Empowerment—and provides data for each of California’s 58 counties along with statewide data broken down by race and ethnicity.

Chris Hoene (@ChrisWHoene) of the California Budget & Policy Center and Surina Khan (@surinakhan) of the Women’s Foundation of California will present the Index and discuss how it serves as a valuable resource for funders and their grantees.

Next, an expert panel including Sarah Dawe of Women Give San Diego (@womengivesd) and Beatriz Solís of The California Endowment (@CalEndow) will dive deeper into the data and explore how it can be used to advance gender equity and create opportunities for women and families.

By presenting this wealth of information in an interactive, highly accessible format, the Index highlights where women are faring relatively well and where we must do better in helping them to advance.

We hope you can join us to explore key findings and implications for philanthropy and for our communities.
