How can philanthropy respond following the Supreme Court non-decision in United States v. Texas?

The June 23 tied vote leaves in place the lower court injunction halting the implementation of expanded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA).

This prevents an estimated five million undocumented immigrants—including the parents of more than 3.5 million American citizen children—from gaining work authorization and protection from deportation.

Join us to learn more about the ruling and its impact in California, and to explore how philanthropy can reaffirm the value, contributions, and resilience of the state's immigrant community.

Videoconference Speakers:

This event will take place at the California Community Foundation in downtown LA, with national and statewide speakers joining us via videoconference for the first hour of the program. Attendees will then debrief and learn about local efforts in Southern California in the second hour.

Local speakers announced!

In the absence of federal reforms, California continues to be a model state for advancing policies that promote the rights of immigrants.

Policies such as driver’s licenses for undocumented immigrants and health care coverage for all children regardless of immigration status reflect the state's growing commitment to immigrant integration.

We hope you can join us for this important statewide funder conversation.
