The Chronicle of Social Change invites you to a Civic Dialogue in Los Angeles to coincide with the publishing of its soon-to-be-released reporting project: Who Cares: A National Count of Foster Homes and Families.
Who Cares is a rigorous examination of the nation’s foster care system and its capacity to care for the children who enter it. Last year, The Chronicle – a news outlet covering child welfare nationally – issued a similar report that was highlighted in stories by The Associated Press and National Public Radio.
The event will center on the role the faith-based community can play in providing homes and support for the county’s foster children. A panel of experts will explore the report’s findings, drill down on the state of foster parent recruitment and retention in L.A. and highlight local efforts to get the faith community more involved in foster care.
