March Public Policy Round Up
Good morning from Washington, DC! Our Public Policy Roundup is coming from Capitol Hill, where as Philanthropy California, an alliance of Northern California, Southern California and San Diego Grantmakers, we spent two days meeting with more than thirty members of Congress on a variety of issues. We urged Congressional members to reject efforts to repeal the Johnson Amendment, which has long preserved the nonpartisan role of foundations and nonprofits in civil society. We also educated lawmakers on the importance of the 2020 Census and of fully funding Census preparation efforts for a full, fair and accurate count. We will have more updates on our Hill visits when we return from Washington.
