Last month, Philanthropy California, an alliance of Southern California, Northern California and San Diego Grantmakers, ventured to Washington, D.C. for two days of insightful meetings with policymakers as a part of the United Philanthropy Forum’s Foundations on the Hill (FOTH). Our visits were well-timed with Congressional deliberation over a spending measure that would fund the federal government for the remainder of the fiscal year. Southern California Grantmakers brought a delegation to discuss our perspectives on the 2020 Census, the Johnson Amendment and other issues of concern to our members, including the unresolved future of Dreamers.
