LA County Department of Public Health Ebola Resources and FAQs

LADPH efforts to reach out and partner with all the organizations that may be involved in the response to a case of Ebola are continuing. A taskforce consisting of multiple County agencies and departments is working together so that we are all prepared in the event we need to take action. We are working with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) to address safety concerns regarding rail and bus lines, and to ensure people feel safe traveling by public transit.

By early summer 2010, the temperature had already reached 100 degrees in Cincinnati. At Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, doctors were urging the families of children with asthma to use air-conditioning. One mother handed a piece of paper to her doctor: The child’s room did have a window unit, and she was using it. But then the landlord responded — he apparently didn’t want to pay the electric bills. Use that air-conditioner, the letter said, and you will be evicted...
