Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic and dependable Administrative Coordinator to serve as an integral member of our small team who will provide essential administrative, bookkeeping and grantmaking support to the Foundation. We are committed to helping our team balance the intersection of their work and personal lives therefore, the Administrative Coordinator will have the opportunity to work remotely 2 days per week after an initial onboarding and training period. This position is full-time, comes with excellent benefits, operates out of our West LA office, and has a starting salary of $68,000 per year. The Angell Foundation is operating remotely through September 7, 2021.


Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Grants Administration: Manage all aspects of FLUXX online grants management platform including generating grant documents and providing high level technical support to the team on using and extracting data from the platform. Serve as liaison between vendor and Foundation, troubleshoot and make modifications to the platform and forms as needed. Prepare and disseminate Board and staff meeting materials and correspondence.
  2. Administrative Support: Provides high-level administrative support including scheduling meetings (virtual and in-person), making appointments, managing work-related travel and logistical arrangements, processing expense reports, and maintaining calendars and contact list. Prepare board minutes and year-end documentation/records. Follow-up with applicants and grantees. Support Program Officers with research and portfolio management as needed.
  3. Office Management: General office duties such as answering phones/emails, managing digital and hardcopy files and documents, monitoring office supply inventory, maintaining the common areas and equipment, managing mail and correspondence, preparing meeting materials. 
  4. Bookkeeping: Works closely with Finance to process checks, expense reimbursements, monthly credit card statements, payment/bill processing, bank transactions and assists with preparations leading to the Foundation’s audit and tax filings. Manages and reconciles petty cash.
  5. Technology and Communications: Provide high-level support on technology related issues and keep Foundation’s website and social media content current. 


The ideal candidate is a detailed oriented, organized self-starter with high emotional intelligence and ability to work with many kinds of people. They also demonstrate a commitment to fiscal stewardship and integrity in carrying out their duties. Candidate must be an excellent communicator, technologically proficient, have the desire to support a small team and be able to work in an organization with an evolving infrastructure. BA/BS and some bookkeeping experience is desirable. Prior work at a foundation or grantmaking organization is preferred.
