Job Description: 

Diane and Guilford Glazer Philanthropies is a grantmaking organization that provides grants globally but with a focus on America and Israel. Glazer Philanthropies seeks a program associate to work across portfolios. The program associate will focus primarily on Vibrant Jewish Life, efforts to build organizational capacity of Jewish Nonprofits however, responsibilities may also include work in Israel as it pertains to leadership development, economic development and access to education.

This is an opportunity to be part of a small team that shares responsibilities across our grantmaking efforts. The program associate will be involved in active grant management and ongoing relationship building with both funders and grantees.

This position offers a great opportunity for professional growth within the organization. It is a full-time, Los Angeles-based position.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of grants by communicating with grant applicants and grantees and serving as one of the organization’s principal contacts
  • Provide administrative assistance across grant making as needed
  • Assure that all grant requirements are met and evaluate grant requests, including financial statements
  • Manage communications with the Grants Committee and prepare written summaries of grant applications to aid trustees in evaluating
  • Pursue opportunities to further the network and relationships of the organization by attending or organizing meetings, conventions, conferences and/or serving on committees and task forces
  • Stay up to date on current issues of importance to the organization

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of work experience relevant to the mission and focus of the Glazer Philanthropies
  • Strong English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Strong evaluative skills, both qualitative and quantitative
  • Significant skills in organizing, analyzing, presenting data, reaching conclusions and developing recommendations
  • Highly competent in budget management, analysis and reporting
  • Motivated and able to work independently in a small organization
  • Personal interest in Jewish life, Israel and intercultural relationships
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally
