Message from Fred Ali, President & CEO of the Weingart Foundation: Threats of Raids Hurt Children and Families

Friday, July 12, 2019

Over the past weeks, immigrant communities have grown fearful with threats of raids and deportation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Los Angeles has been specifically identified as a targeted city for these raids. These cruel tactics terrorize families and violate our collective sense of decency and compassion.

The Weingart Foundation stands with immigrant communities in this challenging time. We believe in justice for all, regardless of the color of your skin or where you were born.

Immigrant families and those that serve them are working to stay calm and prepare for potential raids as best they can. You can help by using your communications capacity and networks to ensure the communities you serve are aware of organizations that can provide assistance.

Below is a list of resources developed by trusted organizations to help inform families of their rights and plan for safety.
