Second Acts for the Greater Good: Social Venture Partners Seeks Encore Fellows

Friday, November 21, 2014

Social Venture Partners Los Angeles (SVP) launched the Encore Fellowships Program in mid-2014 in partnership with Encore.org and with support from The Eisner Foundation.  Encore Fellowships are designed to deliver new sources of talent to organizations solving critical social problems by tapping private-sector professionals who are ready for a new stage of work – work that offers a renewed sense of purpose and contributes to the greater good.

SVP is currently matching seasoned professionals (with 15-30 years’ experience) transitioning out of corporate positions with structured assignments (typically 12 months, half-time) at nonprofit organizations, where they help nonprofits build capacity, grow strategically and, ultimately, have a broader impact on their communities. Fellows commit to 1,000 hours of work over 6 to 12 months.  Benefits to Fellows include a $25,000 stipend, learning about nonprofit innovations, challenges and culture firsthand, and also receiving a one year membership in SVP.
