Dear Colleagues,
We were greatly saddened to hear that our dear friend and colleague Leonard Aube, Executive Director of the Annenberg Foundation, has passed away after courageously battling cancer for two years.
Len led the Annenberg Foundation's work to give over $2 billion to more than 2,500 nonprofits in Southern California and around the world. He played a central role in the creation of major nonprofit initiatives like LA n Sync and Alchemy, which have strengthened our sector in critical ways.
His tireless enthusiasm was an inspiration to all of us in the SCG community, and it's impossible to measure the profound impact of Len's lifelong work to improve communities throughout Southern California—and beyond. Len was a kind and elegant man who was relentless in the pursuit of excellence and impact, and fearless in tackling major problems that would have daunted most of us.
Our deepest condolences to Len's wife Robin, and their children Kyle and Katie.
It's difficult to take in this news, but we take comfort knowing Leonard will be long remembered and his work will leave an incredible legacy for many years to come.
