United Way HomeWalk 2016

United Way’s core mission is to Create Pathways Out of Poverty for all Angelenos by eradicating homelessness. In addition to relying on a “Housing First” approach, United Way has joined forces with members of the public, private and nonprofit sectors to pursue our goals of:

  • Ending chronic and veteran homelessness through a five-year action plan called Home For Good
  • Reducing the County’s overall homelessness rate by 75% by moving thousands of individuals into permanent housing with supportive services

Together, we can end homelessness.

Permanent housing with supportive services is a proven model for ending homelessness, with a success rate of over 85%. But it takes all of us working together and success starts with you.

The registration fee is $25 for both walkers and runners. This $25 event fee helps to ensure that every dollar fundraised goes straight towards ending homelessness in Los Angeles County. SCG Members can join Team SCG by following the instructions below, or create their own team.

To register with team SCG:
1. Please visit the registration site
2. Under "participant type" select "walker" or "runner"
3. Under "role" select "Join a Team" and search for "Team SCG"
4. Complete registration form

Event Schedule
Registration Opens: 7:00 am
Opening Program: 8:00 am
5K Family Run/Walk Starts: 8:45 am

* Note: Runners and walkers will line up on different streets (exact location TBD). The run will start at 8:45 am. Then walkers will move up to the start line for the walk to begin.

*Our run is a "fun run" which means it will not be chip-timed. Instead, there will be clocks at the start and the finish line so you can see how fast you did the five kilometer route!

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m: KCRW DJs, Food Trucks and FREE activities
