The next generation of 5G telecommunications technology will require the siting of more electromagnetic frequency (EMF) technology in more places. With their open spaces, schools and playgrounds have been prime targets. And low-income communities bear a disproportionate burden.

The Federal Communications Commission recently exempted smaller 5G antenna systems from the National Environmental Policy Act and the need for environmental impact assessments. While several states and communities have instituted protective policies, many neighborhoods lack the knowledge or resources to act.

At the same time, a U.S. panel of scientific experts recently recommended that the conclusions from a National Toxicology Program study be elevated to indicate clear evidence between EMF exposure, carcinogenicity and reproductive health.

Funders, donors and philanthropic advisers are invited to hear from scientific experts and advocates in the field who will present the latest science behind the health impacts of EMFs, and learn what policy and market-based strategies can address this growing concern.
