Resources from Right to Housing Webinar

Publication date:
Tuesday, December 3, 2019

Philanthropy across the state has been working collaboratively to address the pressing problem of homelessness in our state. Central to the homelessness crisis is the pressing need for affordable housing. Too many families experience homelessness due to rising rents and stagnant wages. Consequently, funders concerned with this issue may have heard about discussions around whether there should be a “right” to either shelter or permanent housing.

In this webinar speakers discussed the grantmaking approach to housing and homelessness as well as how to address the challenges and the debate around a “right to housing” as opposed to a “right to shelter” in the state of California.
