In addition to exploring life expectancy and health data, the Portrait looks at data focused on access to knowledge (school enrollment rates and educational degree attainment rates) as well as measures related to standards of living and median earnings for full and part-time workers.

The State of Human Trafficking in California 2012
In January 2012, Attorney General Kamala D. Harris created a Human Trafficking Work Group to examine the nature and scope of human trafficking in California in 2012. The Work Group was comprised of representatives of educational institutions, private entities, and a broad spectrum of law enforcement agencies. This report reflects the discussions held during three day-long meetings in Sacramento, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, as well as supplemental research and investigation by the California Department of Justice.
Landscape Analysis of Recruitment of Resource Families for Children Ages 0-5 in Los Angeles County
As has been documented by the County, external stakeholders and others, there is a crisis in the foster care system in Los Angeles County. There are simply not enough suitable placements - generally called foster homes - for children who are temporarily removed from their birth-parents for their safety.
