The Philanthropic Services Officer stewards The Community Foundation’s donor relationships and donor services in the Coachella Valley, insuring that all donors and prospective donors of The Community Foundation experience high-quality interactions with the institution that foster long-term engagement. Funds will be used to provide grants to nonprofit institutions in the Coachella Valley in order for The Community Foundation to continue our on-going and permanent support of the Valley, and to advance our efforts to help improve the Coachella Valley’s quality of life. We also work with donors to fund nationally and internationally.

Nearly a third of California’s households “struggle each month to meet basic needs,” largely because of the state’s high cost of living, a new study by United Ways of California concludes.
The study relies on what the organization calls a “real cost measure” that goes well beyond the Census Bureau’s official poverty measure, which dates back to the early 1960s and pegs California’s rate at just half of what the United Ways study found.
The report, LA2050: Vision for a Successful Los Angeles, provides the history, context, recent developments, and next steps for LA2050.
It describes the metrics to track and reach the five LA2050 goals, as well as current data points that identify how far we have to go.
The report also shares recent grants made to local partners to make progress toward these goals, articulates the broad strategy of investments, partnership, and activation that, together, enable LA2050 to achieve a shared vision for a better Los Angeles by 2050.
